The Royal Monastery of Santes Creus: opened during works

The Royal Monastery of Santes Creus is adapting its tour due to the refurbishment of the Gothic cloister.

Thinking about visiting the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus soon? During the restoration of the Gothic cloister, the monument is adapting the available tour. Besides this, a new camera and screen have been installed in the restoration area of the sarcophagi, which will allow visitors to witness how the works proceed!

Did you know that experts have discovered an exceptional find during the restoration of the sarcophagi? They are untouched burial remains belonging to the Catalan nobility of the 13th and 14th centuries, which will now be studied to know more about who they were, what they ate and what illness they suffered, as well as more details about their life and work conditions.

The Monastery will be opened from 10h to 17.30h. The last projection of “The world of Cister” will screen at 16.30h.

Guided tours will be available both in Catalan and Spanish depending on the session. The tour lasts for 90 minutes and is 4€ for those over 8 years old (entrance to the monument not included).
